Making Lasagna The African Way

Lasagna is a very beautiful and yummy Italian traditional dish. Today, we will be twisting the process a little bit. Yes, you can call it “Lasagna with African Twist”. Lasagna is an excellent source of dietary protein. The extra cheese and meat added to it also contain protein which the body breaks down to maintain healthy tissues and keep a glowing and healthy body. Now, let’s do this.

Ingredients;

• 1-2 pound(s) of lean ground beef.

• 1-2 onions cut up.

• 1-2 jars of marinara organic sauce.

• 16 ounces of ricotta cheese.

• ½ pound mozzarella cheese sliced.

• ½ cup of grated parmesan cheese.

• Two (2) mix bell pepper (chopped).

• 1-2 hot pepper (s) (blended).

Seasoning;

• Fresh parsley.

• 1 Tbsp of black pepper.

• ½ Tbsp of sea salt. (season to taste).

• 1 Maggi crevettes shrimp/ chicken bouillon or Maggi star crayfish/ Nigerian Maggi.

• 1 Knor cubes.

• 1 Tbsp badia complete seasoning.

• 1 Tbsp lawry’s all purpose chicken seasoning.

• 1 pack of lasagna noodles.

• Two (2) eggs.

Big Tip; Share your seasoning in half, i.e half for prepping, the other half for cooking your meal that way you get to keep track to avoid over seasoning your meal.

Now, let’s get into cooking;

Prep Time; 20-25 mins.

Total Baking Time; 45-50 mins.

• Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 7 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

• Preheat oven to 350degrees

• To assemble, spread 1-2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. Arrange 7 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce.

• Spread with one-one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with mozzarella cheeses slices.

• Add another 1-2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

• Keep repeating the process on the layers and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

At this point you can cover for 20-25 with Aluminum foil and open for the rest of the bake time (optional)
